the Apple iMac was first launched in 1984 after, shortly after the founding of the company in 1976. the Mac featured a keyboard and a bright screen as well as a disc drive and a speaker system. this was one of the first desktops so it was no surprise when people were amazed by the fact that it was a revolution in technology.
the iMac G3 was released in 1998. the iMac G3 was on of the first desktop computers to feature a USB port to hook other devices up to it.
the iMac G4 was released in 2002 and was a big success from 2002 to mid 2004. as you can see, the iMac G4 had a whole new design. it looked more like the computers we use today.
the iMac G5 was released in 2006 and was the first mac to feature that revolutionary design kickstand that we see on all the Macs today. the iMac G5 was the first to feature the wireless apple mouse. it was also the first to feature the apple logo that was right below the screen the iMac G5 was fitted with OS 10.3 and then 10.4.
the iMac intel plastic was the first iMac to feature a camera. it was also the thinnest mac yet, it had a very tough plastic exterior and was fitted with OS 10.4 the iMac intel plastic was released in 2006and discontinued in 2007.
this is the iMac aluminum. it was released in 2007and was the greatest Mac ever invented. the iMac aluminum had the first apple on the front of the computer that was black, not gray. the iMac aluminum also came with (you guessed it) an aluminum body. it had a large ole in the kickstand so wires and other things could make their way out of the back of the computer without getting blocked by the kickstand. the software that the iMac had was OS 10.5. the iMac aluminum was the feature the disc drive on the side of the model. the keyboard was the first to have a new, iconic design. silver with white keys and gray lettering. the mouse had a new design that was sort of like a flatter, tinier version of the iMac intel plastic's keyboard. the iMac aluminum was discontinued in 2009.
this is the iMac aluminum unibody. it was released in 2009 and it was not much different from the iMac aluminum. there were new wallpaper choices a different screen design and a smaller apple at the bottom. the iMac aluminum unibody was fitted with OS 10.6 and was discontinued in 2012.
this is the iMac aluminum slim unibody. it is the latest mac and it is also the thinnest. it was invented in 2012 and was actually released to the public in 2013. the iMac aluminum slim unibody came with OS 10.8 and it has not been discontinued yet.
